Great album. My favourites are Machine Gun, Who Knows and Power To Love. Love the energy the Band Of Gypsys had because it was that R&B hard rock vibe that inspired Funkadelic and D'angelo. Hendrix is one of the reasons why I play guitar/5().

Recorded live at the Fillmore East on New Year's Eve , Band of Gypsys is less psychedelic and more blues-based than Hendrix's work with the Experience. Buddy Miles and Billy Cox dole out pulsating rhythms, while Jimi unleashes his inimitable guitar wizardry. Standouts include "Changes" and "Machine Gun.

Buddy Miles on drums/vocals and Billy Cox's bass make up two-thirds of the trio, with guitar genius filling in the rest, "Machine Gun", the album's highlight, features some of Hendrix's greatest playing. Rock guitar has never been the same/5(16).
